What really is in Energy Drinks? I don’t really know. But is it bull semen?
A new link is being shared in Social Media claiming to containt “shocking news”:
Shocking Fact: Your Energy Drinks Contain Bull Urine And Semen
That claim’s not new: Already in 2017 this story claimed the substance “taurin” would stand for bull semen or urine.
Our colleagues from Snopes already checked: “Taurin” does NOT mean “bull urine”. Some claim the greek root “taur” for “bull” plus the “-ine” suffix would mean that, but it does not, rest assured.
It’s synthetically produced in laboratories, even though the name really originated because it was first isolated 1827 from ox bile. But you can find taurine in many different animaly, including humans.
The firm itself states their taurin is synthetically produced, and thus of course suitable for vegans as well.
It’s an old hoax article, which resurfaces again. The claim is not true. “Taurin” is synthetically produced.
