RECENT RESEARCH ON DNA TRANSMISSION VIA SEXIf you have sex with a man, his DNA lives in you forever. A research by…
So is it true that genetic material is transferred to the woman through the man’s semen during each sexual intercourse, even during oral or anal sex, and that then all children are chimeras from the previous sex partners?
The fact check
Absolutely and unequivocally: NO. Children always come from one father and one mother (genetically speaking).
The aim here is to use alleged medical data to persuade women not to have sex except with their husbands, even before marriage.
One should first know how a child is born: through the fusion of sperm and egg during fertilization and after meiosis.
This means that the set of chromosomes is divided in half as soon as the egg and sperm cells are formed, so that exactly half of each set of chromosomes in the child stems from the mother and half from the father. Because this is the idea of the whole story of sexual reproduction: the mixing of genes.
The claim being made here is that during every sexual intercourse genes are transferred and the resulting child is a bastard.
Humans have 46 chromosomes consisting of 23 pairs of chromosomes, and each chromosome consists of two chromatids each. One chromatid from Mom and one chromatid from Dad – always! There is no room for additional chromosomes.
If there are additional chromosomes, then almost always a genetic disease is present, the best known of which is probably Down syndrome (trisomy-21), in which the 21st chromosome is not found twice, but three times.
Let us now turn to the phenomenon of microchemirism.
It describes the survival of foreign cells in one’s own body. In the past it was assumed that it was not possible to transfer cells from mother to child or vice versa during pregnancy, but this is not true.
Cells can be transferred from mother to child and vice versa and can subsequently be detected in blood and tissue. This also occurs in blood cells after organ transplants or bone marrow transplants and is currently being researched in detail because this can be both a therapy and the cause of the condition.
However, the fact that sperm can survive in the body, or even pass through the oral mucosa via oral intercourse into the inner ear is pure nonsense. The body can recognise foreign cells through its immune system and subsequently kill them.
Male DNA in the female brain?
Nevertheless, about 63% of women carry male DNA in their brains, according to a study, and the question arises: why?
One explanation is actually that sperm DNA migrates into the female brain, but this has not yet been proven. Another fact is that this was probably also planned by nature or God, because the women with male DNA in the brain had significantly less Alzheimer’s than the women without foreign DNA.
However, since the number of cases is very small, no conclusive statement can yet be made.
Certainly no child will be born with a multiple set of chromosomes from all men, because humans only have these 46 chromosomes and half of them are still from mum and half from dad, there are no other producers.
However, it is possible that gene material is actually exchanged during every unprotected intercourse, which might not be a pleasing thought with every ex-partner, but there are neither chimera children, nor has there been any medical disadvantage so far, the indications speak rather for an advantage.
If one wants to prevent this, one can of course do without sex, or use a condom, because the effect is the same: no semen in the body and at the same time protection against diseases!
And even if not, this seems to be rather advantageous.
