Is the link authentic?
This mail appears very authentic: The sender looks real, but that’s easy to fake. If you’re unsure whether or not to click a suspicious link, you can hover with your mouse over it like that:
As you can see, the link is an abbreviated URL, which already seems suspicious. If you click it you get redirected to a website which only has remotely to do anything with the real company.
Additionally we discovered the website only existed for just one day before the mail got sent! The creator of the page suspiciously anonymized themselves.
This is the fake FedEx page – Don’t be fooled!
This page looks very much like an original page – but don’t be fooled! If you unknowingly type in your email, you may get conned. You get asked to type in some personal information, which of course doesn’t end up with FedEx, but with the scammers!
Rule of Thumb
When in doubt, always go directly to a company’s website to log in! That way you don’t end up on fake websites. In this case, check out FedEx’s real page.
